Privacy Policy
This site is run by Joni Woods (Journey Coaching), Ann Arbor, Michigan. This page explains exactly what is collected when you visit joniwoods.com, what it is used for, how long it is kept, and how to ask for a copy of it or have it deleted.
The short version
- You can read every page on this site without creating an account or giving any personal details.
- Google Analytics runs for all visitors by default to count page views and link clicks. You can opt out using your browser; see "How to opt out" below.
- Your name and email are only collected if you type them into the contact form or the AI assistant.
- Nothing here is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. There are no advertising or retargeting pixels on this site.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics 4 (runs by default)
This site uses Google Analytics 4, property tag G-15GL881LLP, to understand which pages
people read and which links they click. It runs for all visitors by default.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and
_ga_15GL881LLP, each with a two-year lifetime, to tell repeat visits apart, and records the
pages you view, the links you click, your approximate location (country and region, derived from an IP
address that Google does not retain), your device type, and how you arrived at the site. This data is
processed by Google LLC in the United States. No advertising features are enabled: Google Signals and ad
personalization are switched off, so this data is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Google Privacy Policy.
How to opt out: you can block analytics with your browser's settings or a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops your visits being measured on any site that uses Google Analytics.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for a basic page-view count. It sets no cookies, uses no client-side state, and does not fingerprint or track you across sites.
Cloudflare Turnstile
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. It is a privacy-preserving alternative to reCAPTCHA and does not track you across websites.

Information you give us directly
The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you typed, plus the page you sent it from and the time of submission. This is used to reply to you and to keep a record of the enquiry. It is not added to any marketing list without your say-so.
The AI assistant
The chat assistant asks for your first name and an email address before it will answer questions. It
stores those, along with the questions you ask, so that Joni can follow up with you. Your conversation is
also held in your browser's sessionStorage so it survives moving between pages, and is
discarded when you close the tab. Do not type sensitive personal information, health details, or anything
confidential into the assistant.
Where this data goes
Form and assistant submissions are processed by a Cloudflare Worker operated for this site and delivered to Joni by email. IP addresses used for rate limiting are hashed before storage; raw IP addresses are not retained. Submissions are kept for 24 months from your last contact, then deleted, unless you have become a client and a longer business record is required.
Embedded and third-party content
Some pages embed video and audio, and some links take you off this site. Once you interact with these, the third party's own privacy policy applies:
- YouTube, embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. - Spotify and Apple Podcasts for podcast episodes.
- Calendly, when you book a call.
- Books2Read, when you buy the book.
- Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, when you follow a social link.
None of these are loaded to track you. They load because you asked for the content or clicked the link.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
- We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or cross-site trackers.
- We do not attempt to identify you from analytics data.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you are in the UK or EEA, the legal basis we rely on is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and in responding to enquiries you initiate; you also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing under the CCPA/CPRA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request: use the contact form and say what you want done. Include the email address you used with the site so the record can be found. Requests are answered within 30 days.
To stop analytics measurement, use the opt-out options described under "How to opt out" above, and clear cookies for joniwoods.com in your browser settings to remove cookies already set.
Security and international transfers
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict Content Security Policy, HSTS, and other hardening headers. Google Analytics and Cloudflare are US-based providers, so data associated with your visit may be processed in the United States. Transfers out of the UK/EEA rely on the providers' Standard Contractual Clauses and their certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page is updated and the "last updated" date at the top changes with it.
